About Lizzy
I am always researching better ways to train my clients. To help with this, I have studied and researched a wide variety of movement sciences and methods, ranging from the biomechanics of golf (Titleist Performance Institute certified), Total Resistance Exercises (TRX Systems certified), 500+ hours as a registered yoga teacher (500 RYT), Thai massage, anatomy & physiology and nutrition. Although nutrition is not commonly classified as a movement method, it plays a massive role in your ability to move better and be freer from pain.
I unintentionally entered into the world of movement and health when my siblings, my father, and I were all diagnosed with various thyroid issues - thyroid cancer, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism and Hashimotos. This is why since 2009, I have been using my body as a test case to learn how to biohack and reduce the health-wrecking effects from inflammation. It became clear early on that once you tame the body’s inflammation, you reap the benefits of better physical health and mental clarity.
I played competitive soccer from high school through graduate school, so I was no stranger to knee pain. Additionally, I suffered a back injury from a car wreck. Although I will have these injuries for life, I have learned how to make my body feel better, and I love teaching these skills to others.
I’m passionate about helping people curate their journey towards better mental and physical health. Yes, they are connected! In my experience, this involves looking at the entire picture, and it typically involves selecting multiple paths to help you get better. Movement is one very important modality, but so is nutrition, sleep, testing for vitamin & mineral deficiencies, and reducing stress levels - just to name a few. If you take a pill to mask the inflammation, then you are never going to figure out the root cause of your inflammation. We have to zoom out to assess our daily habits and environment, and then dive deeper to change and optimize the way we think, feel and move.
